The Student Learning Services at MRU provides excellent study services to students who seek academic support (Bakhtyar Bukhari, CMRU.ca)
Students often feel the pressure of a tough course and let the weight on their shoulders grow by trying to face it on their own, even whilst it has no benefit. The Peer Learning Program at MRU is designed for students with these tensions in their head to reach out and build on their understanding of their toughest courses alongside a learning peer.
Who are the Peers?
A learning peer is someone who has a complete understanding of the course and can tackle its pressure with ease. When connecting with a group of students in this program led by a peer, students are able to master different learning styles and habits through practice in sessions which prioritize reviewing course content and building your confidence. To be led and supported by these strong groups leaves no doubt for a student’s academic success and wellbeing.
Requirements.
The requirements for being a learning peer are none more than someone who has passed the course with a B+, and has a great desire to help others face the challenges that the course hits them with. The requirement to apply for PLP is to be enrolled in a MRU Credit, upgrading course, or a professional certificate.
With this simple process, the PLP is designed to take your academic stress away and replace it with confidence and the skills to ace your course. Never be afraid to reach out as your supporters are way closer than you think.
