Post secondary plays an important role in the process of becoming an adult. Every person is unique and has their own needs and interests. Through Mount Royal University’s Inclusive Post-Secondary Education (IPSE), students can tailor their post-secondary experience to their own interests, dreams, and career goals.
Benefits of the Inclusive Post-Secondary Program
MRU prides itself on creating a diverse, welcoming post-secondary experience that allows all of its students to engage with their community, get active in extracurricular activities, and pursue practicums and work that interests them.
IPSE offers year-round support that helps students and their personalized academic goals through course selection, tutoring, communication with instructors and faculty members, classmate support, exploring campus events and clubs, support with summer employment and field experience, and access to campus services such as the Campus Recreation and Athletics, Wellness Centre, Mount Royal Library, and Student’s Association.
Eligibility for the Inclusive Post-Secondary Program
There is a fee of approximately half of the for-credit tuition fee. Students must confirm their eligibility for funding through Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) to be considered for IPSE. To apply, students may contact their PDD service coordinator to receive a referral. Once students have confirmed their eligibility, someone from IPSE may contact them for an interview in the spring, at which point they will be given an application package to complete.
