Halloween is almost over, but not the Festivities
Halloween is almost here, but there’s still time to get into the spooky spirit before October comes to an end.
Pumpkins After Dark is lighting up Calgary’s WinSport until Oct. 31, 2026, giving students one last chance to celebrate the Halloween season with friends.
The outdoor event features more than 1,000 hand-carved pumpkins, glowing sculptures and colourful displays that bring Halloween to life. Visitors can walk through illuminated pathways filled with creative pumpkin designs, music and special effects. From classic Halloween characters to larger-than-life sculptures, there’s plenty to see and photograph along the way.
A fun way to spend a night with friends
For students looking to take a break from assignments and studying, Pumpkins After Dark offers something different from the usual Halloween parties or scary movie marathons.
The event includes live pumpkin carving demonstrations, celebrating all things Halloween and local food trucks serving fall-themed treats. It’s also a great opportunity to take some Halloween photos with friends, especially with the glowing pumpkin displays creating colourful backdrops throughout the experience. Unlike a traditional haunted house, Pumpkins After Dark focuses on the fun and creative side of Halloween without jump scares, making it an option for those who enjoy spooky season without the scares.
With Halloween only days away, students have until Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026 to check out the event before it closes for the season. Pumpkins After Dark takes place at WinSport, located at 88 Canada Olympic Road S.W. in Calgary. Tickets are available online, with prices varying depending on the date and entry time.
