Haunted Houses Welcome Thrill-Seekers
Calgary residents seeking a seasonal scare can visit Canada’s largest Halloween event at GMC Stadium this October.
ScreamFest offers themed haunted houses and the indoor Midnight Market vendor hall, designed to give visitors a memorable Halloween experience. Organizers report high attendance during opening weekend as post-secondary students and local thrill-seekers gather for autumn festivities.
Attractions and Games
The annual event features multiple haunted houses with distinct themes, ranging from zombie outbreaks to classic horror tropes.
Each attraction uses live actors, atmospheric lighting, and special effects to create immersive environments. Visitors can also participate in seasonal activities across the grounds:
-
Haunted mazes: Multi-room walking trails with thematic scares and decor.
-
Midnight Market: Indoor vendor tables featuring Halloween merchandise and souvenirs.
-
Carnival games: Halloween-themed skill games with prize giveaways.
Event staff advise guests to prepare for cold temperatures and long queues during peak weekend hours.
Attendance spikes significantly during the final weeks of October prior to Halloween night. Guests should dress warmly because line-ups extend outside the venue. Event coordinator also recommend booking tickets online early to guarantee admission on busy weekend nights.
