From Classroom to Cockpit: MRU Launches New Aviation Campus Opening

This aircraft is displayed at Mount Royal University’s campus, where aviation students receive practical training as part of their commercial pilot instruction. The display serves as both a teaching tool and a symbol of the program’s long-standing commitment to aviation education.

Mount Royal University has secured its place at the forefront of aviation education through its role in the Alberta Training Centre of Excellence in aviation and aerospace. 

In October, Mount Royal launched the Springbank Aviation Campus and honored its aviation alumni; highlighting Alberta’s leadership in the industry.

The centre based in Calgary, is the first facility in Canada to bring together advanced flight simulators, collaborative research and hands-on training with industry partners. It was created through a multi-million-dollar agreement between the Government of Alberta, WestJet, CAE and Calgary Economic Development. The new facility (3,402 square meters) includes modern class rooms, meeting areas and so much more. Take a sneak peak of the Aviation campus with behind the scenes by a virtual tour.
