Podcasts have been gaining popularity since the 2020 pandemic on every topic imaginable. In today’s media, many people use podcasts for various reasons, whether for entertainment on a drive home or for informative pieces that can be used for school assignments; podcast topics are seemingly endless. Podcasts have greatly impacted sports media these past couple of years by providing a direct line of communication for fans. They are produced weekly and sometimes daily to keep up with the fast-moving world. Sports podcasts can create new content more frequently, updating listeners with breaking news faster than a pre-produced sports broadcast show. 32 Thoughts by Elliotte Friedman and Kyle Bukauskas is a great example of a sports podcast. This podcast provides weekly content and information about the hockey world, keeping individuals updated on the latest hockey news.
