There are multiple programs for students to learn new skills.
Climbing programs
Basic Climbing Skills for Ages 17 and Older. This is the initial stage of Climbing Skills Series. The subjects encompass the use of a harness, management of the rope, and techniques for top rope belaying.
MRU recreation offers Lead Climbing teaches students topics such as clipping, rope management, and lead belay techniques.
There are climbing competitions, group climbing bookings, and drop-in climbing available for students.
And if that’s not exciting you yet, there is climbing events and competitions happening monthly throughout the year at the climbing center.
The events come in various formats, including themed community festivities, partner climbing challenges, and bouldering, lead, and speed climbing competitions.
The rentals and fees range from $3 to $15. Climbing package costs $12.
Outdoor programs
Programs range from student-led leisure trips to educational programs that include experienced guides and interpreters to assure participants’ comfort and safety.
Day hiking, overnight backpacking, trail running, outdoor climbing, and backcountry skiing are all possible activities.
