Township creation
Every city has small, impactful businesses within it. From barber shops to dog sitters, each plays a vital role in supporting the other. Nicole Hudson, founder of Township Cleaning, is also significant within her community.
After working in a cleaning company that “wanted to cut corners, and they didn’t necessarily care about the client and the client’s home.” Nicole realized the need for a cleaning business that cares for clients. She “saw a need for quality cleans and for cleaners that cared about the client… I wanted to start something that was going to benefit the community and clients.” So she created Township Cleaning and began her journey.
Giving back
Township represents more than cleaning; Nicole strives to go beyond her business and impact her community in ways other than her profession. Over the past years she donated free cleans to seniors and to the Kinsmen Home Lottery, supporting Alberta Children’s Hospital.
Beyond that, she explains, “we also will donate old towels and rags to different rescues within the city”. A simple act through which she can support her community.
She continues to provide free cleans to those who need them and lend a helping hand to those who need it. Nicole does not plan on stopping either, as she says, “We plan on doing the donating cleans… again next year,” representing the everlasting care she has for her community.
Through an in-person interview, she discussed the impact of community partnership and more.

Reflection
This project impacted me by strengthening my communication skills with businesses and teaching me the hands-on process of working with a business. I hope that I provided a good amount of content for my community partner to use as they please. Since they wanted to kickstart their YouTube and become more active on social media, they can use the clips I give them to start.
I learned a lot about working as a team and bouncing ideas off each other to create a media piece that everyone is happy with. With my team, we discussed ideas and walked through them. We planned and made sure that everyone got to pitch an idea. By meeting and understanding each other’s needs as well as criticizing ideas and scripts, we eventually came up with an idea we all agreed upon.
This was a really good experience for me since it was scary speaking to people I had never met before, but once we all came to the same page, it made me feel more comfortable with the idea. This project highlighted the importance of branching out and finding people who may need you as much as you need them; a good connection never hurts; this one didn’t.
