An image of some items that a student might have in their backpack, some are allowed during a test, and others are not and need to be removed beforehand.

Are the thoughts about finals inching closer, stressing you out? Don’t worry, because after reading this guide on how to prepare yourself, mentally and physically, you will be ready to take those exams and pass with relative ease. To make it easy, the information has been separated into the test and on the day of, so you know which is which.

Before the tests

Now, before we prepare, first things first, please make sure you know where the exams actually are before going to them. You definitely do not want to find out where they are on the day of, next. Make sure to get plenty of sleep before the test. You may try to stay up and cram before, but showing up the next day groggy and on caffeine will definitely leave you feeling bad. Another important thing you need to bring with you is a ‘fake it till you make it’ attitude; nothing can go wrong if you believe hard enough. If you need to study, you can find a quiet place with few distractions. If you can’t, you can always book one of the study rooms in the MRU Library.

The day of the exam

During the day of the test, remember to pack all the things you might need during the exam:

  • Pencils
  • Student ID
  • Pencil sharpener
  • A calculator
  • A Backpack to carry everything
  • A clear bag to hold the items
  • A positive attitude
  • Anything else your instructor tells you to bring

Make sure to leave anything you do not need in your backpack or at home things such as:

  • Your phone
  • Notes
  • Textbooks
  • Headphones
  • Bad vibes
  • Smartwatches
  • Food & drink
  • Anything else your instructor tells you not to bring

Now that you have all you need to take your test, you can finally take your test and expect to pass it with flying colours. Remember, it is mostly fake it till you make it. Just stay positive, and you will do fine.
