Halloween is finally upon us, and there’s plenty of holiday events going on around the city. Whether you’re looking for something scary or just in the mood for fall vibes, here are five Halloween activities going on around the city this week.
Calgary Ghost Walks – All week!
Do you believe in ghosts? Are you just a fan of local history? Calgary Ghost Walks is hosting tours of various historic areas around the city, showcasing Calgary’s most haunted locations. Learn the history of the haunted Historic Fire Hall, or sit down and enjoy a drink while you learn the history of some of the city’s most haunted pubs.
Haunted Calgary’s Hell Night – October 31st
Experience the thrill of surviving a zombie apocalypse with Haunted Calgary‘s “Hell Night”, a simulated zombie survival experience hosted at Heritage Park. Try not to get turned, but if you do, enjoy some free zombie face paint and try to turn your friends, too. If you’re interested in getting a bit of a workout on Halloween night, tickets are only $60 for this immersive experience.
Winsport’s Haunted Mini Golf – All Week!
If you’re looking for something fun for the whole family, or you just aren’t a fan of getting scared, you might find that Winsport’s Haunted Mini Golf is more your speed. This is an all-ages activity, set on Winsport’s usual mini golf course, with added spooky decorations to really fit with the season. Adult tickets are $17, and spots are available all week.
The Confluence’s Creepy Tales & Cocktails – October 30th
The Confluence is hosting Creepy Tales & Cocktails, a spooky adults-only walking tour of the Confluence parkland and the historic neighbourhood of Inglewood. Calm your nerves with a cocktail and embark on an autumnal journey through the city’s history, with tickets costing only $55 per person.
Steve Hackman’s Skull + Bones – October 31st
If staying indoors on what could be a chilly Halloween week sounds more appealing to you, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra is presenting Steve Hackman’s Skull + Bones, a showcase of eerie pieces of music from throughout the ages. For as low as $37, you can relax and not only enjoy the original pieces, but Hackman’s modern remixed versions of them as well.
