Mount Royal University’s Four Weeks to Strength program offers faculty and staff a structured, supportive path to improve strength, coordination, and overall well-being. Run by MRU Recreation and Employee Wellness, the program focuses on helping participants build confidence through consistent, guided physical activity.

A Program Designed for Every Fitness Level

Each week features a one hour training session led by certified MRU fitness instructors. Participants are guided through progressive workouts that can be adapted to their individual goals and comfort levels. The program encourages both beginners and regular gym goers to improve strength safely and effectively.

The sessions emphasize:

  • Proper technique and posture to reduce risk of injury.

  • Progressive strength training that builds endurance and stability.

  • Group motivation that fosters accountability and community.

  • Personal growth through goal-setting and measurable improvement.

Supporting Wellness Beyond the Gym

The initiative also connects participants to additional resources offered through Employee Wellness, reinforcing MRU’s commitment to physical and mental health. Consistent participation in strength training has been linked to better focus, mood stability, and resilience outcomes the program hopes to nurture across campus.

A Step Toward a Healthier Campus

The program is open to all employees of the MRU community and takes place at the MRU Recreation Centre. Each session aims to create an inclusive environment where participants can challenge themselves while feeling supported.

Participants can sign up through Employee Wellness.
