There is just under a year and a half till the next World Expo in 2025. Canada Pavilion at the World Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai in Japan is a way to showcase Canadian innovation and foster international investment. The World Expo is a place where the world gathers to find solutions to issues facing the global world. In July 2023 ES Global was awarded the contract to lead the design and construction of the pavilion. The concept for the pavilion has just been announced and it is set to embrace the Canadian seasons.

Concept

The concept for the Canada pavilion at the expo is based on a river’s journey across Canada. It is set to embrace the beauty of the different seasons, specifically a river thawing at the beginning of the spring season. The outside is to resemble different ice formations that are found in the springtime. The inside will encourage visitors to follow along the river’s journey.

Japan and Canada

Canada and Japan are working together to advance six areas of common interest; including energy security, health security,  peacekeeping operations, free trade promotion, the rule of law, and the environment and climate change. Japan is one of Canada’s most important commercial and economic partners. There are also many Canadian companies working in Japan. Expo 2025 is a way to demonstrate how Canada is working with Japan.

Expo 2025

The World expo is a place that brings people together to showcase innovations from around the world in an effort to tackle issues the world faces. The theme for Expo 2025 Osaka is “Designing future society for our lives”. The previous theme for Expo 2020 Dubai was “connecting minds, creating the future”. Canada participated in expo 2020. The concept for the expo 2025 is a “people’s living lab”. It will be a place where world knowledge will be brought together and help resolve worldwide issues. A goal for the Expo 2025 is to help create a sustainable future and help the world reach the United Nations sustainable development goals of 2030.
