There’s a lot of things to do in and around Calgary this Halloween. From haunted houses for kids and adults, to spooky tours and train rides, here are three activities you can do this year for Halloween:

ScreamFest

The Stampede Park is hosting ScreamFest, the largest Halloween event in Calgary! It has several Halloween-themed spooky games, such as:

  • Feed the Demon
  • Wheel of Misfortune
  • Lose an Eye (yikes!)

You can win a bunch of Halloween goodies that you won’t find anywhere else!

There’s also 6 haunted houses to spice up your Halloween, like:

  • Clown Town
  • What Lies Beneath
  • Reapers and Grimm

ScreamFest is open to all ages, however, it’s not recommended for children under 13. Costumes are encouraged, but dress for the weather, as some portions will be outside! General admission: $30 per person (when you purchase online) or $35 at the door. There’s only a couple more days to test out your fear limits: Oct. 27, Oct. 28, Oct. 29, and Oct. 31.

Train of Terror

The Aspen Train of Terror has a unique freaky ride this Halloween. The event is located in Aspen Crossing, which is located about 50 minutes southwest of Calgary. Guests will brace themselves for a horror train ride. The scary part? Actors are allowed to touch, grab and take you during this ride. For this reason, only adults over 18 can be a part of the thrill. Here’s some more info:

  • The experience is two hours long
  • Two horror maze hunts
  • An hour and a half train ride
  • Available dates: Oct. 28, Oct. 29, and Oct. 30
  • Pricing is $85 per person (perhaps that’s the real scary part)

Calgary Ghost Tours

If you’re interested in learning about some local ghost stories around Calgary, then this is the perfect event this Halloween. Tour guides will take you in the neighbourhoods of Calgary, and tell you all about the historical stories of the city about mischief, mayhem, and murders. Some participants even said they’ve seen ghosts during these tours…! Tours take place in:

• Inglewood

• Downtown Calgary

• Kensington

These tours go until Nov. 5, and cost $20 for adults, $15 for kids.

And of course, Happy Halloween!
