Every Spring, SAMRU offers a free tax clinic, hosted by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), to qualifying low-income individuals, seniors, new immigrants, and families. The program requires qualified volunteers (see requirements below) to prepare these tax returns. Beef up your resume and help your fellow students!
This opportunity is open to ALL students, not just those with an accounting background. No previous experience required. Send your resume to firstname.lastname@example.org to be considered. Interviews will be conducted in January. A mandatory training session will be held February 9th OR 15th (stay tuned).
CRA Requirements for Tax volunteers:
– Committed no fraud
– Up to date on income tax returns
– No outstanding issues or balances with the CRA
Students tend to take on additional stress towards the end of the fall and winter semesters, when term papers, projects, last-minute assignments and finals prep are all coming to a head. That’s why SAMRU hosts Stress Less Week twice a year to give you that little extra boost you need to make it through to your last final.
Stress Less Week means that tons of great programming will pop up ALL AROUND CAMPUS catering to student needs – crafting sessions, a roaming exam relief cart loaded with snacks and, of course, the legendary Puppy Room.
All Stress Less programs and activities are free, so you can refresh your body and mind without leaving campus or spending a dime!
Click this link to see the breakdown of where you can find all of the different STRESS LESS activities.

Now, countless songs, stories and shows later, these hometown favourites are bringing their comic, a cappella stylings to the Bella Concert Hall for a unique 25th Anniversary event. It's a family-friendly 'roast, toast, and jam' with a band who has outlived and outlasted even their own expectations. Expect some family friendly fun with some surprise guest appearances. The Heebee-jeebees are... the most fun you've ever heard
