Personal Reflection:

This project impacted me because I was able to learn a lot about the beauty industry in the ways that it helps people feel great about themselves and it helps us as the audience understand the importance of the beauty community, and why we need to help it thrive, so people like Janine stay in business. The impact I hope I had on my community partner would be that I hope she feels that I helped her feel connected more in the audience around her. I also hope she feels like I’ve given her an outlet in order to feel more connected to her media page, and so the people who come to her salon feel like they know her better after watching the video, and using the media content. Another thing I hope she gains from this experience is that she gains a new perspective on what is presented on her social media page so she can look back at this opportunity and learn a bit more on how she is presented in the likes of the media. What is also important is that I showcase the importance of how nails are made, and this is really vital to the way we buy products in the beauty industry as this process is important to the ways we consume, and why we buy what we buy.
