The Hub has been hosting events geared towards students for many years. This year John Hadley, the Director of Building and Business Services, was one of the people involved in planning Neon Night.
Hadley explains that Neon Night is the first event of the semester hosted at The Hub in conjunction with the MRU Ski Club. He states that SAMRU is trying “to bring in a monthly series for students” to get-together at The Hub.
Hadley’s focus this year is to build a strong relationship with the different student clubs that are on campus. These events are a way for The Hub to work with a different club every month;
“We want The Hub to be the venue of choice for student clubs” says Hadley.
Neon Night is the pilot event for The Hub to rebuild their relationships with MRU clubs. Hadley explains “we’re hoping that student clubs will bring more of their input to these kinds of events”.
The next event to look out for is their “Trick-or-Treaty” event that will be hosted in October at The Hub in conjunction with the Cultural and Indigenous Inclusion Programming. If you’re interested in any events that The Hub hosts, you can look at their website.
